Search engine optimisation (SEO) is the process of improving websites rankings on the search engines. SEO is of paramount importance. Websites that are well-optimized benefit from high ranks and more exposure. This means generating decent web traffic (Get 10000 free hits) (visitors) and more profit in the process.
There are two types of optimisation: on-page optimisation and off-page optimisation. Novices must learn about these two types in order to improve their websites visibility on the search engine result pages (SERPs).
On-Page optimisation
On-page optimisation refers to all of the factors that help your ranking that are on your website. This involves having a visitor-friendly website instead of a search engine-friendly website and using ethical search engine marketing, which means having unique content, proper Keyword Density, Keyword Frequency and Keyword Prominence. Title Tags and Mata tags are also paramount as far as on-page optimisation is concerned.
Visitor-Friendly Websites vs. Search Engine-Friendly Websites
Visitors-friendly websites are better than search engines-friendly ones. Web pages must be created primarily for Internet users not for the search engines. The search engines give a lot of value to their users because they are the main source of revenue. The cast-iron evidence is that Google has a system for determining the value of a website based on the behavior of its users. It is called the Behavioral Search.
Websites that are created mainly for the search engines are likely to displease its users and turn them away. With the Behavioral Search, Google can know how much time visitors stay on a certain website. If a lot of visitors leave the website and bounce away (this is called the Bounce Rate), it indicates that the website is not valuable. Consequently, it must not be given high rankings.
For the foregoing, it is important to give visitors the best experience possible. The website design must not be bizarre or eye-hurting. The website must also be accessible and easy to navigate.
Ethical Search Engine Marketing
Ethical Search Engine Marketing, Ethical SEO or White-Hat SEO refers to all of the tactics deemed acceptable by the search engines. One of these tactics is having unique on-site content. Needless to say, on-site content refers to the content of your pages.
In order to benefit from on-site content, one needs to make it as ethical as possible.
